This overview describes the immigration pathways Turkish nationals ask about most often. It is general information, not advice about your case.

Non-immigrant categories Visitor (B-1/B-2), student (F-1), exchange (J-1), and specialty worker (H-1B) visas each have their own conditions on work, study, and travel. Violating those conditions can affect future applications.

Employment-based routes E-2 treaty investor status is available to Turkish nationals under the U.S.-Türkiye treaty of commerce. EB-1, EB-2, and the national interest waiver are used by researchers, academics, and people with extraordinary ability.

Family-based routes Immediate relatives of U.S. citizens are not subject to annual caps. Other categories wait according to the monthly visa bulletin.

Asylum Applications must generally be filed within one year of arrival, with limited exceptions.
